Fulbright Program comes to Monte
Current language assistant shares American life with our students
Emily from Ohio, a current language assistant as part of the Fulbright program, travelled to our school to share American life with our students. She visited a range of classes, opening with the question: What do you think about America?
What followed were questions and comments on aspects of US life such as High School, Sports, special festivals as well as tougher issues like civil rights, the gun culture and the political structures in the USA.
A hotdog lunch was provided in the lobby for more students to meet and greet. One student remarked, "It is cool to meet a real American. I could talk to her and she was very friendly."
The visit was such a success that Emily would love to return in the warmer weather, before her program finishes mid 2023. "I loved Leipzig and the school is fantastic - motivated and open students made this trip really enjoyable," Emily added.
